About Trinity Lutheran Church
Founded in 1849, Trinity is a Christian church, of the Lutheran denomination and WELS Synod, located in Crete, Illinois. We focus on sharing the gospel (the good news that a loving God sent Jesus Christ to take away the sins of all people), growing God’s family, and helping people discover and use their spiritual gifts (God-given gifts and talents) to serve God’s kingdom.
What is worship like?
We have two styles of worship. Our 8:00am service is a traditional church service following the timeless Christian liturgy of classic hymns and Christian responses. Our 9:30 and 11:00am services are filled with more contemporary, upbeat praise and worship music. At their heart, all three services highlight the same message of God’s unconditional love for broken people. To have a deeper understanding of Trinity’s core beliefs, visit the WELS website.
What should I wear?
At Trinity, you’ll find anything from jeans and a t-shirt to dresses, suits and ties. Wear what’s comfortable, because Trinity isn’t about what you look like or wear — we’re just happy you’re here!
What about my kids?
God loves kids and we believe they should love their God and their church! Every Sunday during our 9:30 service, we offer our Trinity Treehouse (Preschool-Kindergarten) and Trinity Timbers (1st-5th grade) classes where we create an age appropriate environment for children to learn about God at their own level. We also offer a staffed nursery for your convenience during our 9:30 service. And, of course, your kids are always welcome to join you in worship too!
What about giving?
There is a part in our service where we gather an offering to say thank you for all that God has done for us. You’re invited to give, but don’t feel obligated. We understand if you would like to learn more about us and God before you support us financially.
