Food Supply Available
We received a phone call for an opportunity for people to obtain free food. Through a donation from a Lutheran church out of Lisle, Illinois, in conjunction with the Greater Food Depository, there will be food trucks in the area available for people to get food.
With all the devastation from recent storms and loss of electricity, they are providing this service free of charge for anyone needing assistance, especially if you needed to throw spoiled food away. And if by chance you are okay and don't need this, feel free to pass the word to anyone you think might need the assistance. This is open to all. You do not need to sign up ahead of time; just show up. They will just ask you to sign in.
Here are the details:
Friday, August 21 — Lineup begins at 9:00 AM; the truck comes and begins handing out non-perishable food at 10:00 AM. The truck will stay until either the truck is empty, or 11:30 AM (whichever comes first).
Saturday, August 22 — Beginning at 9:00 AM, perishable foods will be offered (milk, cheese, eggs, meats, etc). There was no end time given, but was told they will be there until it's all gone. This handout will be inside the building.
Location for both days — 90 Town Center Road, University Park, IL (in the strip mall by the Village Hall)
