Week #22 Update
Crete 1 travelled to division leader Sieden Prairie 2 who put on a hitting clinic - with all nine players getting at least 5 hits. Even so, Crete took an early lead into the the seventh of game one. Unfortunately, a late inning rally by SP2 swept them to a 10-9 victory. The home team proceeded to light it up in game two, crushing the visitors with a barrage of 26 hits enroute to a 20-7 win. Game three Crete took an early lead and then simply refused to lose. SP2 left two on in the eighth and three on in the ninth, but couldn't score either inning. Despite getting out hit, Crete took the nightcap 12-7. SP ended the night with 63 hits and 37 runs. Crete managed 47 hits and 28 runs. Steve Johns (10-17) paced the visitors with 10 singles. Ken Latzke (9-18), John Barthel (career best: 7-15; 4 HR), Dan Griffin (7-16) and Ed Oldenburg (6-15; 2 HR) added consistency up and down the line-up. Matt Wenzel added power with one HR. Crete 5 falls to 36-24. Next up Crete 1 travels to Oak Glen.
Crete 5 hosted division power Oak Glen Tuesday night. Crete 5 came out hitting and routed the visitors 14-6 in game one. Both teams struggled in game two, but Crete won the pitchers duel 5-1. Oak Glen finally showed up for game three and took the nightcap 10-3. Tim Rauch (8-16) and Tim Lange (8-16) led Crete along with timely hitting from Larry Lacheta (7-16). Jon Palm added the lone HR for the team. Crete 5 closes out February with a pair of victories and a record of 36-27. Week #23 is a bye week for Crete 5. Next up will be week #23 at Sieden Prairie 2 on March 13.
TOURNAMENT RESULT - Crete 1 takes 2nd place
Both Crete teams participated in the annual First Lutheran Dart League Invitational Tournament held at Oak Glen January 8th. Crete 1 took second place in the traveling division, narrowly missing first place.
TRINITY DART CLUB - Kickoff Meeting September 6th
Don't miss the annual Trinity Dart Club kickoff meeting held slated for this Tuesday September 6th. Agenda and schedule to be distributed at the meeting. Schedule is also found on the First Lutheran Dart League tab to the left. First games for both teams are September 13.

2011-2012 TRINITY DART CLUB
The Trinity dart club has two teams, Crete 1 and Crete 5, in the First Lutheran Dart League, which consists of 15 teams from Lutheran churches, both Missouri and Wisconsin Synods, in the south suburban area. These churches range in area from Beecher to the south and Worth to the north. We can always use new players and welcome anyone who has an interest in throwing darts, either male or female, and who would enjoy a fun filled night with other members. You should contact one of the captains of the Trinity teams, either Mick McGuire at 708-906-7110 or Ken Biesterfeld at 708-672-5979.
We play three nine inning games each Tuesday night at 8 p.m. at the sight of the home team on the league schedule between the middle of September until the end of March, with a three week break for the Christmas holidays. There is also an annual tournament in January each year hosted by one of the leagues churches. Keep an eye on the church bulletin for the weekly location of each Crete team.
An area of service we participate in is to prepare one of Trinity Lutheran's Advent suppers.
